Worcester’s Go Green Week 2026, run in conjunction with Worcester Students’ Union, is from the 9th to the 14th of February. Activities will be online and in person. Students, staff and the community are invited, so we hope you come and join the fun.
What Is Go Green Week?
Go Green Week is a student-led event that takes place every year and is organised by first-year students in environmental management & sustainability and geography. The week aims to raise awareness of sustainable living practices and encourage behaviour change. Working with Worcester SU students and invited organisations, create a series of activities that discuss and explore sustainable options for the future.
At Worcester, Go Green Week is a big deal. It is an excellent time for everyone to get involved and have fun on campus. Each year, we like to run entertaining activities to get everyone stuck in. Throughout the week, our activities aim to help raise awareness of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Check out last year’s Go Green Week at Worcester to see what we got up to.
What Is On for Go Green Week 2026?
Below, we will look at the events for each day, the times they will run, and where you can find them.
Monday
Anytime Bird Drawing workshop. Short video to show anyone how to draw a bird, always start with the beak.

12.15 -1.00 pm Sustainability in Student Unions – Blueprint for success This webinar will showcase the Universty of Worcester Students’ Union’s (UWSU) “Blueprint for Success: achieving long-term sustainability goals within the context of a Students’ Union”
Who is this webinar for?
This webinar is open to all including Student Union staff, sabbatical and elected officers, student representatives, educators, and wider members of the public.
2.00 pm – 4.00 pm Decolonise Decarbonise and Democratise education workshop online, SOS UK This workshop will give an overview of climate justice and discuss how decolonising and decarbonising must be considered from an interconnected perspective for education to deliver on climate justice. We will explore examples of climate injustice and how this often intersects with issues of race and gender. It will address the social-ecological crises, Education for Sustainable Development, practical actions to address these issues, and recommended resources for further learning. Book for the workshop.
Tuesday Wednesday Thursday
12.15 pm until 2.15 pm: The Hangar St John’s Campus. In person. Re-use and recycling advice, Crafting, free house plants and herbs, learn about dehydrating fruits and vegetables, eat samples, make bug hotels and bird feeders, try free hot food samples, make beeswax wraps, wildflower seed bombs and, of course, come and pet the Therapy dogs. Come along and take part. Meet these organisations: Worcestershire Vegans and Veggies, Remade, Delilah and the Moon, Severn Waste, SOS UK, Pets as Therapy, Worcester Climate Cafe, Sanctuary Housing, Platform Housing, Beryl Bikes, Love Food Hate Waste, Act On Energy.
Tuesday:
1.00 pm – 2.00 pm The Hive Studio ‘Go Green with AI’ talk with Tom Mandall . Have you considered the environmental impact of using AI? AI is increasingly embedded in everyday technology, but come along to an informal session to gain handy tips for effective AI use whilst reducing your impact on the environment.
12.15 – 2.00 pm Make your own Beeswax Wrap and stop using clingfilm. Book
6.30-7.30 pm Climate Cafe: An online opportunity for anyone who is concerned about climate change to come and talk about their feelings with our friendly group. Book
4.00 – 5.00 Terrarium-making workshop, free to University of Worcester students only. Bring your lidded glass container (e.g. at least cooking sauce jar size with lid); everything else is provided. Book
Wednesday:
9.15 – 10.15 am Meet at St John’s Campus main reception Guided Bird Walk- Book
12.15- 2.15 pm Act On Energy experts will give you bespoke retrofit advice on creating a warm, healthy, sustainable home. All welcome book or just turn up.
2.45 pm: Community litter pick 2.45 Meet at Severn Gate St Johns Campus. Book
2.00-4.00 pm Social Kitchen. Learn from Chef Eddie how to cook plant-based meals from scratch. University students only. Book
Thursday:
8:30 – 9.30 am Guided Bird Walk Meet at City Campus Charles Hastings reception

Saturday:
Worcester Repair Cafe 11.30-2.00 Bring any item that you can carry to be repaired by the expert repairers, last items in at 1.30pm
