Volunteering Opportunity – one day
Are you interested in gaining some valuable training and experience in environmental auditing?
We are offering FREE accredited auditor training -Institute of -ISEP (formerly IEMA) Approved.
You’ll receive a full morning’s training in the requirements of environmental auditing, and then first-hand environmental auditing experience in the afternoon. No skills are required as we provide full training on the day; all we ask is that you can attend the morning training session and complete at least 1 audit at the university during the afternoon. Each audit will be completed in pairs and will take 1 to 2 hours, depending on the department’s size. The training will support you in developing and practising transferable employability skills, including communication, teamwork, decision-making, time management, and organisation.
You will need a laptop/tablet with internet access. Breaks are built into the training, and a food voucher will be emailed to you for use in the on-campus catering facilities. This must be redeemed before the end of July 2026. Role description and more details here.

When: Wednesday 6th May
Where: Online on Teams
What Time: 9.30 am – 3.30 pm
The first part of the day will be the training. In the afternoon, you conduct the audits; these will be online.
A little bit about Green Impact…
Green Impact is an environmental accreditation programme, designed to encourage, support and celebrate departments in making environmental and social sustainability improvements. Interested University staff and students volunteered to participate in the program and have completed sustainability-based projects over the last few months. All departments participating in Green Impact will need an audit to verify their level of achievement… and this is where you will come in!
