Top Tips to Save Water Every Day

Additionally, here are some easy ways to make a positive impact right now: Read more tips here

  • Turn off running taps
Avoid leaving taps running when brushing teeth, shaving or washing hands.
  • Report leaks
Leaks in taps, toilets or showers should be reported as soon as you spot them so they can be fixed quickly.
  • Wash full loads
Using full loads in shared laundry facilities reduces water waste.
  • Use a washing‑up bowl
It uses far less water than washing dishes under a running tap.
  • Choose tap water
Refill reusable bottles instead of buying bottled water.

Every small action helps your residence earn points in the Green Campus Revolution—and supports a more sustainable campus for everyone.

Why Your Actions Matter

Water plays a crucial role in ecosystems, climate stability and daily life. As climate change intensifies, water availability and quality will face increasing pressure. By saving water now, we can:

  • reduce carbon emissions linked to water treatment
  • protect habitats and wildlife
  • cut the risk of water shortages
  • strengthen our community’s sustainability goals

Together, we can make a real difference—one tap, one wash, one habit at a time.

Get Involved with Sustainability on Campus

If you’re feeling inspired and want to do even more, you can volunteer with the sustainability department. It’s a great way to meet people, support the planet, and help shape positive change on campus.
