Food and Health Tuesday

Highlighting the wastage of disposable cups

Food and Health are the themes for Tuesday. Students have negotiated with the catering company on campus Aramark to get 10p off the price of any hot drink if they bring their own mug, this offer is on all week and helps to highlight the wastage of disposable cups.

FairTrade Produce

Students are running a local food fair, focusing on FairTrade goods. You’ll get the chance to get artisan Palestinian produce, free meat-free tasters and Jamaican foods from a local company. In the evening, you’ll learn how you make your own pizza while getting quizzed on climate change.┬áThe knowledge of climate change may help you win a FairTrade hamper during Food and Health Tuesday!

Supporting People and Planet through Food and Health Tuesday

Of course no food fair could happen without home-made cakes! Proceeds going to People and Planet to help with their campaigning work.

Excellent, great to see the focus around foods, food alternatives etc.. I recall my days as a student myself and not really knowing just what the options were, what I could cook and what I cook without breaking the bank.. So, so important to help show how people can cook quick/tasty/sustainable (and often) local foods as part of a balanced weekly food regime..
