The Midlands Sustainable Education Network Leaders Programme

Launched at the EAUC 2017 conference and commencing September 2017 with the initial session at Coventry University, the programme will be delivered over a 10 month period with 5 delivered content sessions and 5 ‘action learning set’ sessions throughout the year. Led by the University of Worcester  this pioneering new programme will equip emerging sustainability professionals with the essential skills and knowledge they need to deliver change in their institutions.

In year 2 as alumni the programme continues with your chance to develop and deliver your own project based on the learning from year 1 as well as working with others, and knowledge sharing in the form of action learning sets. Skills you have developed such as knowing your networks, coaching and forensically analysing why projects achieve success will all be put into practice.

An online platform will provide tools and guidance as well as an opportunity to share learning with your peers.

As the programme is developed with the EAUC Midlands group the meetings will be held in the Midlands area for this pilot. However, you do not have to be in the Midlands area to join the pilot. Following the pilot, we hope to expand the programme to other areas in the future.

Who should attend?

The EAUC Emerging Leaders Programme is for sustainability professionals perhaps new in roles, and/or with mandates to lead on Organsation-wide campus-wide behaviour change. Often they have little or no ‘formal line management’ authority and may well work at levels in the hierarchy where the ability to influence those at more senior levels is an important requirement. More experienced sustainability leaders with an interest in developing their careers with a sustainability leaders standard qualification should also attend.

Places are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment. As this is the pilot we are offering this to EAUC members at a heavily discounted rate. The pilot is only open to those within the Further and Higher Education sector. Future developments may be open to non-sector.

EAUC Members: £395,  Non-Members: £900

Note: If attendees wish to gain the full accreditation there will be an additional charge

Through the programme you will gain a greater understanding of leadership practices with relevance to sustainability within the Further and Higher Education and allied sectors. You will receive guidance and support on expanding your networks to deliver projects with impact. Learning from others is an essential part of the programme; action learning sets and online knowledge sharing will provide the tools for this.
